Workshops Dinner at Pousada Santa Maria de Bouro, Amares

\subsubsection*{About the Pousada do Bouro}
The Portuguese \emph{pousadas} are a network of (partly state-owned) hotels
that offer modern and luxury comfort in historic castles,
monasteries, etc.

Half way between Braga and the Ger\^es mountains
stands the Bouro Pousada, the outcome of the renovation
of a former monastery built by Benedictine Order, later to be taken by
the Cistercian Order in the 12c, which was protected
by Dom Afonso Henriques, the first Portuguese king.
The architecture of this magnificent building has significantly changed in the 18c.

\par\noindent
\includegraphics[width=.49\textwidth]{bouro.jpg}

\noindent
The Bouro's Cistercians played an important role in the 14c dynastic crisis,
when they took part in the war against Spain with an army of 600 men.
They were learned people and able artists. The best known
collection of Portuguese 17c organ music, for instance,
was found among what remains of the once
very rich library of monastery, today in the Braga District Archives.

\subsubsection*{Quiz:}
 In your way home, it is wise to bring a family Quiz. Here is our
proposal:
  Using 6 wood sticks, build 4 equilateral triangules.

\subsection*{Answer for last number \emph{quizzes for non-Portuguese speakers}}
\begin{enumerate}
\item
``To send somebody below Braga'' \emph{(Mandar algu\'em abaixo de Braga)}

Explanation:
In the midle-ages, smelly sewage waters flowed down to a lower place (below Braga).
If someone sends you ''below Braga'', don't be very happy.

\item
``To watch Braga through a tube'' \emph{(Ficar a ver Braga por um canudo)}

To be busy with something which ends up to nothing. This has to do with
visitors who would come to Braga and waste their time watching the town
through the Bom Jesus telescope.

\item
``You're from Braga and your name is Laurence!'' \emph{(\'Es de Braga e
chamas-te Lourenço!)}

This expression refers to people who never close doors.
D. Lourenço Vicente (1311 - 1398) was a Braga archbishop who helped
king D. João I in several battles.
He was known for his strong personality and for never closing doors.
(You know, archbishops never close doors: someone should do that for them)

\item
``[To be] older than Braga's Cathedral'' \emph{(Mais velho que a S\'e de
Braga)}

Explanation: Braga's Cathedral is very old (10c). This expression is used to
stress that something is very well known or very old.
\end{enumerate}

\subsection*{Weather}
